Rhinoplasty

Achieve Facial Harmony

If you feel your nose doesn’t quite fit your facial structure, rhinoplasty could be the transformative solution you’ve been looking for. Whether due to natural asymmetry, injury, or aesthetic preferences, rhinoplasty at ARCmd is tailored to harmonize your features, restoring confidence and balance.

WHAT IS
Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, more commonly referred to as a “nose job,” is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures. It involves reshaping, reducing, or augmenting the nose to enhance its appearance and achieve better facial harmony.

Beyond aesthetic improvements, rhinoplasty can also address structural concerns—whether it’s repairing a birth defect, correcting damage from an injury like a broken nose, or resolving functional issues.

For those dealing with sinus issues or a deviated septum, rhinoplasty is sometimes combined with procedures like septoplasty or sinus surgery to improve both function and appearance.

COMMON CONCERNS ADDRESSED

  • Size and shape: Adjusts nose size, bridge, and tip refinement.
  • Breathing difficulties: Corrects deviated septum or obstructions.
  • Nostril reshaping: Refines nostril width or asymmetry.
  • Nasal hump removal: Smooths a hump on the bridge.
  • Post-injury correction: Repairs broken noses.

BENEFITS OF RHINOPLASTY

  • Harmonizing facial features: Balances your nose with your facial proportions.
  • Boosting confidence: Achieving a shape you’re satisfied with can elevate self-esteem.
  • Correcting asymmetries: Straightens and reshapes uneven noses.
  • Repairing trauma: Fixes damage from injuries like a broken nose.
  • Improving airflow: Resolves structural issues like a deviated septum.

THE RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE

Rhinoplasty is usually performed as an outpatient surgery under general anesthesia or IV sedation and typically takes between 2 to 3 hours.

Depending on the technique, incisions may be placed inside the nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or across the columella (open rhinoplasty). Once the soft tissues are lifted, the bone and cartilage are carefully reshaped to match your aesthetic goals.

In some cases, additional cartilage may be sourced from your nasal septum or another area for support. To aid healing, nasal splints are applied post-surgery.

RECOVERY AND RESULTS

Rhinoplasty results are designed to be long-lasting, but proper care post-surgery is essential to ensure the best outcome:

  • Initial recovery: Expect some bruising and swelling around the nose and eyes. Splints and nasal packing are usually required for a few days.
  • Return to normal activities: Most patients feel comfortable resuming daily tasks within 4-7 days. However, it may take up to 12 months for all swelling to subside fully and reveal the final shape.
  • Post-surgical care: Follow guidelines such as avoiding strenuous activities, keeping the head elevated, and attending follow-up appointments to monitor your progress.

WHO ARE THE IDEAL

Candidates?

Rhinoplasty is most suitable for individuals in good health who have completed their facial growth (generally 15-16 years for girls and 17-18 years for boys). Candidates should approach the procedure with realistic expectations.

The decision to undergo rhinoplasty should be a personal one, free from external pressures or societal expectations. At ARCmd, our goal is to ensure you make an informed, confident choice that aligns with your own aesthetic and health goals.

REVISION Rhinoplasty:

REFINING YOUR RESULTS

If the results of a previous rhinoplasty didn’t meet your expectations, whether due to appearance or breathing difficulties, revision rhinoplasty may be the solution. This secondary procedure aims to correct any issues left unresolved or caused by the initial surgery, helping you achieve the look and function you desire.

Understanding the Complexity

Revision rhinoplasty is often more challenging, requiring additional cartilage from areas like the ear or ribs due to scarring or tissue tightness. In these cases, our skilled surgeons may need to source additional cartilage from other areas of the body, like the ear or even the ribs, to rebuild and refine the nasal structure.

Non-Surgical Alternatives

For minor deformities or irregularities, medical grade injections can enhance nasal contours without surgery, providing an effective, less invasive option.

Personalized Solutions

If you’re unhappy with the results of a previous rhinoplasty, it’s important to consult with an experienced surgeon. At ARCmd, we’ll develop a customized plan that aligns with your aesthetic goals, ensuring you achieve results that leave you feeling confident and satisfied.
